As you can see, I’m actually not that curly, myself. I curl my hair when I get time, but it’s naturally fairly straight. My daughters, however, are a different story. Atop their heads perch big bundles of tight, dark brown curls. These curls are a beautiful, beautiful thing, but also a very difficult thing to tame. It has taken me almost six years to get used to dealing with them, and I am still learning. The main reason I started this blog was to write about my journey discovering the best ways to care for mixed race hair and skin. Over the months I’ve been writing, it has become so much more than that. I write about all aspects of myself as a mother and as a woman, including raising mixed race children, crafts, baking, mental health, natural parenting, and my quest to find/regain my identity with the Groovy Mums.
